Far off the highway in an old hotel, Ralph lives in a tine mouse hole in room 215 with his mother. The room was often occupied by children as their parents slept in the bigger room down the hall. This worked out great for Ralph as little kids often left crumbs on the carpet or sticky candy bar wrappers on the floor. He always keenly watched the excitement of the kids and activity in the room.

When an older boy named Keith stays in the hotel for a few days, Ralph is mesmerized by his line of toy cars, especially the red motorcycle. The temptation is too great and when Keith is out of the room, Ralph sneaks out, climbs up the telephone cord, and goes for a test drive. But he is startled when the telephone rings and falls off of the table and into a trash can. He is trapped.

Luckily, Keith is a sweet boy and loves the idea of finding a mouse to play with. The two become friends and Keith teaches Ralph how to drive the toy motorcycle. All he needs to do is make the sound pb-pb-b-b-b with his mouth and the motorcycle moves. Soon he is off and running on different adventures.

With the help of his new friend, Ralph tears all around the hotel on his new joy. Weaving between peoples feet in the hallway and past barking dogs. Narrowly escaping the terrifying vacuum cleaners. He becomes a hero to his family for getting so much good food from his new friend.

Young readers will adore this heartwarming story. It’s a fun adventure for kids with a touch of imagination to inspire them. It’ll have them wishing they were a little mouse driving up and down the hallways on their own toy motorcycle.
